American Girl Tea - ages 5-10

In honor of Black History Month Parteaz and It's SEW Crafty will be having an American Girl Tea Party featuring Addy.

Bring your own American girl for a lovely afternoon of games, treats and crafts that Addy would have done during 1864. . Have a fancy lunch and Tea Party with your doll. Make delicious mini pies. Sew a bean doll with "It's Sew Crafty". Play some games of the Civil war period. Have tons of fun!


American Girl Tea - ages 5-10 Friday, February 25th (during winter break) 11:00-12:30 $40 for 1 child- $35 each for 2 or more Lunch, "Tea" & Dessert included!

Bring a furry friend (doesn't have to be a teddy bear) and spend a delightful morning with us! Beautiful dress up is available for the Big event! Just wear your bathing suit or leotard under your clothes! Make a matching purse for you and your friend with "It's Sew Crafty", Decorate some yummy cookies and drink pink lemonade from real china tea cups!

January 2011 Bubble Bath Fun

January is all about "Bubble Bath Fun"

We stared off with making eye masks that will help us to relax....

mom & me - For moms and toddlers. Mom’s will help their child to hand sew puppets, dolls, bags and more.

sew with me - Parent & Child. Make memories together. Beginner-intermediate craft level.

sew cool - Ages 3 and 4. Simple sewing crafts using felt material.

sew funky - Grade K-2. Simple crafts with a sewing machine

stitch & sew - Grades K-2. this class is a great way to learn the skill of hand sewing and embroidery.

boys only - Ages 7-10. An introduction to the basics designed for beginners

sew sunday - Ages 7-10. Learn to use a sewing machine to create doll clothes, dolls, bags and sew much more!

sew simple - Grades 3-5. Kids will learn the basics of how to use a sewing machine and fashion design.

December's Fun

December has brought new changes to the It's SEW Crafty shop! Lots of new crafters have joined us,and extra classes have been formed to accommodate the wait list!!. The shop is now decked out with 10 new sewing machines and better work stations!

It's SEW Cafty and Parteaz are joining together for a Gift Making Workshop for ages 3-13 on December 4th 4pm-5pm located at 1860 Springfield Ave. Maplewood

Tips for Heming Pants

I've had quite a few people ask me how to hem a pair of pants. I will be the first to say I am not a seamstress- but I have some helpful tips that will make hemming pants a cinch!!

First- try the pants on with shoes-make sure they fit in the waist!

Second-have someone help you pin the cuffs up- use a ruler to make sure they are even all they way around. * bending over and hemming yourself will make it hard pin stright.

Third- with an iron press the new hem line in to place then pin the fabric to the inside, and try the pants on and make sure it looks ok in a mirror!

Forth cut off the excess fabric, leaving a hem allowance of 1 1/2" to 2"

Fifth-with an iron press the hem again then,hand stitch or machine blind stitch the hem in to place.
